Heritage claims and UNESCO mission request

The Western Azerbaijan Community sent a letter to UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay

WAC requests a UNESCO mission to Armenia, alleging destruction and appropriation of heritage.

The issuer publishes the letter on 27 March 2023. UN A/77/838-S/2023/256 annexes the same dated letter: Azerbaijan’s covering transmission is 7 April and UN distribution is 11 April. The Blue Mosque and Kond/Tapabashi allegations remain attributed. WAC’s later 20 May report does not add another letter or imply UNESCO acceptance.

Direct letter to Pashinyan

Western Azerbaijan Community sends letter to Armenian Prime Minister

WAC asks Pashinyan to begin direct dialogue and enable its proposed return to Armenia.

The WAC page is published 11 March 2023. A Chinese UN annex reproduces a WAC letter dated 11 March; Azerbaijan transmitted the later dossier on 4 August, distributed 8 August. Those later dates do not replace the March publication. WAC denies a territorial claim while asserting return and collective-rights entitlements; the assertions remain attributed.
