Rosstat national census coverage, including Crimea and Sevastopol, internationally recognized as Ukrainian territory. 2021 census count reproduced in original RAS-authored research. It is not an independent headcount, a language-user total or a current population estimate.
Tuvan communities are centred on Tuva; related communities and language varieties also extend beyond its borders.[19]
Census sources may include this community within a broader category. Parent and subgroup counts must not be added together; each record retains the source’s classification.
Tuvan is a Turkic language with several regional varieties.[19]
Scholarly descriptions document Buddhist and shamanic traditions. Kharitonova’s research from 2000–2018 examines changing shamanic practices without estimating the affiliation of all Tuvans.[19][25]
No comparable people-wide religious percentage is established here. Regional survey results are available separately, where covered.
The map locates selected administrative contexts, not ethnic borders or complete settlement areas.
