Initial enacted allocation. Raw source is thousand KZT; divided by 1,000 to million KZT. National budget figures and the SIPRI statistical series can use different scopes and accounting bases. They are shown separately and must not be added together. Missing figures are not zero spending.
The national series is Ministry of Defence administrator 208 within the republican Defence functional group, excluding other ministries and MoD education, health and other functions. It is not a complete ministry or national military-spending total. It covers 30 initial approvals for 1997–2026, the latest changed legal revision for 26 years, seven administrative annual plans for 2020–2026 and six full-year execution figures for 2020–2025. Sixteen earlier changed legal vintages remain in the selected year’s source details; they are not extra allocations. Older published aggregates are used without claiming a constant-programme reconstruction. State defence orders move outside the ministry around 2019 and back into it during 2025, changing comparability in 2019 and 2025–2026. The transferred component is already included in later MoD totals and must not be added again. The 2026 adjusted plan is a full-year target as of October, not nine-month actual expenditure. Completed-year USD conversion uses published National Bank annual averages; 2026 uses a labelled calculated calendar-day mean through 31 October, with a different weighting from NBK working-day annual means. SIPRI separately covers 1994–2025, excludes military pensions and marks 1994 highly uncertain. All USD amounts are nominal; series must not be added.
Published in current USD by SIPRI using the relevant year’s exchange rate; no second conversion applied.

Scope
Dated developments cover 1991–2026. Ministry programme-budget observations cover 1997–2026; SIPRI separately covers 1994–2025. Personnel estimates, spending ratios and historical Kazakhstan Engineering group financial measures have their own indicators. Transfers and conflicting government returns are attributed, not summed into a current inventory. Group industry figures include civilian and dual-use business. Budget coverage changes, intermediate amendments and unknown dates remain in source details. This is a selected reference, not a complete inventory or readiness assessment.
Method & coverage
This is a curated public-source reference, not a complete inventory. Each record identifies an event or publication date, implementation stage and evidence type; the detail explains which date is known. An official report establishes what the issuer said; a contract does not establish delivery, and delivery does not establish readiness. Unknown quantities remain unknown. Records count publications or developments, not weapons, personnel or military strength.
Official report
The issuing institution reports the event or figure; this is not independent corroboration.
Independently corroborated
Distinct independent evidence supports the specific recorded claim.
Estimate
A sourced estimate, with its method and limits retained.
Unresolved
The available evidence does not establish the specific point.
