A sourced record of Armenia–EU diplomacy, agreements, reforms, mobility, economic support and security cooperation.
Counting & sources
This is a curated register, not an exhaustive count of every meeting or EU-funded activity. Each record has one primary category. Repeated reports, translated copies and individual clauses do not create extra events. A single programme’s successive legal, funding and implementation stages may be recorded separately when independently dated. Gaps do not establish inactivity.
Event dates drive the charts; later publication dates are retained separately. A national law expressing European aspirations is not an EU decision granting candidate status. Visa facilitation, a liberalisation action plan and visa-free travel are different legal stages. Announced or approved assistance is not treated as disbursed funding. Assessments establish what the issuing institution reported, not independent proof of every outcome.

The first EU–Armenia Human Rights Dialogue took place in Yerevan.
The EU annual human-rights report gives 9 December 2009 as the first session. This established a regular dialogue mechanism; it does not certify Armenia’s compliance with all human-rights obligations.
Armenia participated in the launch of the Eastern Partnership, a framework linking the EU with six eastern partners.
The Prague summit declaration of 7 May 2009 launched the initiative. Eastern Partnership participation does not itself grant membership prospects or candidate status.
Armenia began benefiting from the EU’s GSP+ preferential trade regime.
Armenia’s Economy Ministry gives 1 January 2009 as the start date. Preferences were tied to international-convention commitments; this was not EU membership or a free-trade agreement.
