A sourced record of talks, agreements, border arrangements, transport, trade and humanitarian contacts.
Counting & sources
Each record has one primary category and is counted once. A meeting that addresses several topics remains one event. Repeated announcements, translations and mirrored reports do not create extra events. The chart measures documented developments, not the success of normalization.
Event dates determine the timeline; a later publication date is shown separately. Month-only dates are retained when the exact day is not established. Official statements verify what a body recorded, agreed or announced; implementation is identified separately. Coverage is selective and may be expanded.

Protocols
Rubinyan and Kılıç signed the joint restoration protocol during Pashinyan’s meeting with Cevdet Yılmaz.
The meeting was held at the European Political Community summit in Yerevan. Signature authorizes a restoration project; it does not establish that construction was finished or the bridge opened.

Joint statements
At their fourth Vienna meeting, the envoys agreed to enable third-country land crossings and direct air cargo.
Both measures were to begin at the earliest possible date, with necessary procedures to follow. The agreement itself is not evidence that the land border opened on 1 July.
Armenia terminated the procedure for concluding the Zurich Protocols.
The National Security Council supported termination, and the Armenian MFA records the presidential decree on the same date. The protocols had not entered into force.
Armenia recalled the Zurich Protocols from the National Assembly.
Sargsyan sent a letter to Speaker Galust Sahakyan withdrawing both protocols from the parliamentary agenda. This parliamentary recall was distinct from the termination announced in 2018.
Edward Nalbandian and Ahmet Davutoğlu signed two normalization protocols in Zurich.
The protocols concerned diplomatic relations and bilateral cooperation, with border opening conditional on entry into force. They were not ratified or brought into force; the Armenian MFA published the texts on 13 October.
The sides announced internal political consultations on two initialled normalization protocols.
The joint statement envisaged six weeks of consultations followed by signature and submission to the parliaments. This announcement was not the signing or ratification of the protocols.
Armenia and Türkiye announced an agreed normalization roadmap under Swiss mediation.
The joint statement records a comprehensive framework and a roadmap, without publishing the roadmap’s detailed terms. It was a negotiating step, not the establishment of diplomatic relations.
Türkiye recognized Armenia’s independence in December 1991.
The Armenian MFA gives 24 December; the Turkish MFA gives 16 December. The original recognition instrument was not located, so only the month is recorded; recognition did not establish diplomatic relations.
