2001 census; historical, not a current resident count

What the figure measures
Official 2001 census nationality table: Armenians, 99.9 thousand persons. This rounded historical ethnicity count is not a current wartime community estimate.

Data limitation: The official 2001 census table records 99.9 thousand ethnic Armenians. An Armenian MFA interview of 29 June 2015 describes an approximately 500,000-strong community. Both are historical references; neither is a current wartime total or included in the indicative community sum. Citizenship-based refugee figures do not measure all ethnic Armenians.

Armenia’s 2015 community programme identifies these centres and the Union of Armenians of Ukraine; current operations need separate verification.

Community institutions

Ukraine: Coverage and source notes

Wartime coverage is incomplete. A dated opening or activity report confirms that event, not operation today. Odesa and Kharkiv school listings and Lviv’s cathedral entry require direct status checks. General media and the Union’s institutional newsroom are distinguished.

Directory sources checked:

This is a selected guide, not a complete inventory or a ranking of influence. A direct source documents what an institution publishes about itself; it does not independently verify every claim or establish uninterrupted operation. Directory listings and historical records carry their stated limits. Dates identify the publication, documented activity or report reference period, as described in the entry. Missing source dates are shown explicitly. Inclusion does not imply partnership or endorsement.

Issues are attributed to the cited evidence and retain the source date. Research gaps identify questions that the available evidence does not settle; they are not findings that a service or activity is absent.

Civilian support and wartime assistance

In a November 2023 interview published by the Union, the People’s Coalition founder described assistance to civilians as well as military recipients. These are attributed organiser claims, not audited totals or current service guarantees.

Ukraine: How to read the figures

A census count, an ancestry response and a community estimate measure different populations. Dates and definitions remain attached to each figure. The covered-country sum uses selected reference values, range midpoints and stated boundaries for “more than” or “up to”; it is not a synchronized population count or a statistical confidence interval. Undated and historical estimates are not current resident counts. The independently published worldwide estimate must not be added to the country sum.
