About this monitor
A curated register with incomplete geographic and historical coverage. Several records may concern the same heritage site; record counts are not counts of unique sites or locations.
This register covers selected developments concerning Armenian built and material heritage outside the Republic of Armenia, including Artsakh. Historical records provide context. It is not a complete inventory or a measurement of the total extent of loss, restoration or protection.
Each record has one primary category. Dates order records within each country and category. The ownership category covers confiscation, expropriation, transfers, restitution and disputes; recommendations, judgments and reported implementation retain their distinct status. An empty category means no matching sourced record in this register, not an absence of events.
Dates refer to an event unless marked “Publication date”. A report’s publication date is distinct from the period shown by imagery or the date of the reported change. Observation windows and uncertainty are stated within each record where the source provides them. “Last reviewed” records an editorial review, not continuous monitoring or automatic updates.
Reports of damage, destruction, alteration or restricted access are attributed to the reporting institution or author. Satellite findings are presented within the source’s observation window and limits; a dated assessment does not establish a site’s current condition, motive or legal responsibility beyond what the evidence supports.
Restoration announcements, work in progress, completion and reopening are distinguished. An announced project does not establish completion or permanent public access. A UNESCO inscription, protective designation or award records the status described by its source; it is not evidence of present condition or effective protection.
New additions identify source type and original language. Newspaper reports, institutional statements, public social posts and personal accounts retain their distinct attribution and limits. A post or photograph alone does not establish ownership, the cause of damage, completed restoration or present access.
Place names identify the locations discussed in the records. Their use does not express a position on sovereignty or legal status. Multiple entries can concern one site or one source; neither record totals nor source totals count unique sites, countries or territories.
Sources (295)
The index deduplicates full source URLs, retaining document fragments. Source titles remain in their original language. The review date is not the publication date of every source.
